Travis Fox Reports:
Growing Pains…
Last week, Becci and I took Isaiah to the doctor’s office for his 9-month check up. At these visits we are briefed on safety concerns for the next stages of his development. This time the doctor made a comment about toddler’s developing faster physically than they do mentally, as if god created us to learn by mistake. We all know that cuts and bruises and missing teeth are all a part of a normal childhood. So, I couldn’t help wondering about our Father’s intention for our spiritual growth to maturity. As god’s children, it’s natural that we will fall and get hurt or be surprised by things that are unfamiliar. But we also know that He is there to guide us, so we might learn from our pain and grow to be mature in our faith. Learning through pain might also be called perseverance. And James 1:4 tells us that “perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything.” - Travis
